Commercial Kitchen Equipment Service Engineer

About the Role

We seek a seasoned Senior Maintenance Engineer to manage troubleshooting, repair, installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities exclusively for commercial kitchen equipment at our Saudi Arabia-based technical service company. This role demands the capability to independently diagnose intricate electrical and mechanical issues, prepare comprehensive technical reports, recommend spare parts, and deliver superior field service with exemplary customer relations.

Scope of Work

The position focuses solely on commercial kitchen appliances, excluding refrigeration, cold storage, HVAC systems, and household devices. Experience limited to refrigeration or HVAC equipment is not applicable.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults in electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems of kitchen equipment.
• Install, commission, and test varied commercial kitchen appliances.
• Conduct both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Assess and verify equipment functionality post-repair.
• Compile detailed technical service documentation.
• Determine spare parts necessities and provide technical advice.
• Interpret electrical wiring layouts and technical manuals accurately.
• Adhere to established safety and quality protocols.
• Offer professional on-site technical assistance.
• Maintain excellent communication and customer service standards.
• Complete service assignments independently with minimal oversight.

Required Equipment Experience

• Electrical & Gas Cooking Appliances: Convection and Combi Ovens, Grills, Griddles, Fryers, Commercial Ranges, Salamanders, Hot Holding Units, Shawarma Machines, Pizza Equipment.
• Bakery Appliances: Spiral and Planetary Mixers, Dough Sheeters, Bakery Ovens, Dough Processing Machines.
• Food Preparation Devices: Vegetable Cutters, Meat Grinders and Slicers, Food Processors, Commercial Blenders.
• Warewashing Appliances: Commercial Dishwashers, Glass Washers.
• Beverage Appliances: Commercial Coffee Machines.
• Buffet Equipment: Hot and Cold Buffet Installations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering or related fields.
• At least 8 years of hands-on experience servicing commercial kitchen equipment.
• Strong familiarity with electrical control systems, heating components, motors, contactors, relays, sensors, and electronic control boards.
• Competency in reading complex electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Proficient use of electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to prepare professional technical service reports.
• Effective troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
• Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision.
• Good proficiency in English communication.
• Possession of a valid passport and willingness to relocate to Saudi Arabia.

Preferred Brand Experience

Hands-on servicing of one or more of these international brands is advantageous: Rational, Electrolux Professional, HOBART, UNOX, Convotherm, Alto-Shaam, Henny Penny, Merrychef, Winterhalter, Fagor, Robot Coupe, Sammic, Sirman, Berkel, Garland, Vulcan, Lincoln, Pitco, Falcon, Mareno.

Additional Information

Location for this role is Chennai, India, with eventual relocation to Saudi Arabia required.
Salary range: INR 900000 to 1100000 per year.
Application eligibility: Candidates must have a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
