Job Summary
The Collision Shop Porter plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the collision center by organizing vehicles and maintaining clean, safe workspaces. This position supports technicians and administrative staff, aids in vehicle movement and preparation, and upholds high operational and safety standards in the environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely move, park, and arrange both customer and dealership vehicles within the collision center and lot.
- Assist with vehicle check-in, staging for repairs, and readying cars for technician work.
- Maintain cleanliness and order across shop bays, washing stations, parts areas, and delivery zones.
- Wash and vacuum vehicles as directed before and after the repair process.
- Support technicians by delivering needed parts, tools, and supplies to their work locations.
- Manage waste disposal, recycling, and keep the workspace safe and organized.
- Perform light maintenance tasks such as sweeping, garbage removal, and cleaning work surfaces.
- Ensure smooth vehicle flow to production, detailing, paint, and delivery teams.
- Adhere strictly to dealership and OEM safety protocols, including personal protective equipment (PPE) usage and proper vehicle handling.
- Assist with any other duties assigned by the Collision Manager or Foreman.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience in automotive dealerships, collision centers, or similar environments is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to handle various vehicle types safely, including cars, trucks, and SUVs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, coupled with effective time management.
- Capability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced setting and respond well to directions.
- Dependability marked by punctuality and commitment to maintaining high standards within the shop.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform other tasks required in a shop environment.
- Valid driver's license accompanied by a clean driving record is mandatory.
