Role Overview

We are seeking a commercially astute Procurement Analyst with strong analytical capabilities and meticulous attention to detail to join our Procurement Operations team in Guildford. This role supports a diverse portfolio of clients primarily within the food and catering sector across the UK and Europe. The position involves a combination of procurement support functions such as price benchmarking, reviewing supplier pricing, and performing comprehensive commercial analyses. You will be instrumental in safeguarding client savings, ensuring pricing accuracy, and maintaining reliable supplier data.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver precise and prompt price benchmarking across food and catering categories to enable informed commercial decisions.
• Perform market analysis to uncover trends, identify risks, and spot opportunities concerning supplier pricing.
• Continuously improve benchmarking techniques and analytical methodologies.
• Conduct thorough supplier price reviews to confirm compliance with contracted price structures.
• Detect pricing irregularities and potential risks, escalating concerns when necessary.
• Maintain client savings through detailed analysis and strict controls.
• Analyze extensive and complex datasets ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
• Implement rigorous validation and quality assurance checks on supplier and client data.
• Generate clear reports that translate data analysis into actionable commercial insights for stakeholders.
• Assist in client contract execution, ensuring pricing and data accuracy from the outset.
• Collaborate internally and with suppliers to resolve pricing, contract, and data-related issues.
• Contribute to ongoing enhancements in reporting, processes, and analytical tools.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Experience in analytical, procurement, benchmarking, or commercial support roles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel with expertise in Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, and spreadsheet management.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a strong ability to investigate pricing discrepancies.
• Logical, commercially driven approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong communication skills with confidence engaging suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

• Background in sectors such as food, catering, healthcare, hospitality, or education.
