About the Role
Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited invites applications for the position of Claims Examining Officer within its Claims Management team. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to advance a career in a reputable and expanding financial services firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze death, disability, and accident claim submissions and corresponding benefit entitlements from Group Life, Group Mortgage, and Personal Accident insurance portfolios.
- Interpret policy contract terms to ensure benefit payments comply accurately with contract provisions.
- Review and clarify policy contracts concerning claims in consultation with Senior Claims Examiner or Supervisor.
- Assist clients, beneficiaries, and brokers by guiding claim form completion and clarifying benefits and claim procedures.
- Collaborate with Group Insurance Administrators and supervisory staff to confirm benefit coverage prior to claim payments.
- Generate payment notifications, inform clients of settlements, and ensure payment records are logged in the Group Life Web Application.
- Prepare and submit monthly operational reports to the Group Life Unit Supervisor.
- Undertake additional assigned job-related duties as necessary.
Candidate Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Nursing, or related field from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Completion of AHIP/LOMA Parts 1 and 2.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software.
- At least one year of relevant experience within the life insurance sector in a similar role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of company Group Life, Health, and Mortgage Insurance products.
- Demonstrated initiative and potential leadership capabilities.
- Basic familiarity with medical terminology.
- Strong time management and customer service skills.
