About Rally
Rally is a platform designed for college organizations to manage events and ticketing seamlessly. It facilitates Greek chapters in planning, booking, and managing payments for their events such as date parties, formals, barn dances, and campus concerts. The platform handles vendor booking including venues, hotels, transportation, and DJs, manages contracts, and operates the ticketing and payment process. Each ticket integrates the member's payment, entry pass, and event check-in, eliminating the need for fragmented payment collections and vendor follow-ups.
Role Overview
As the founding Chief Technology Officer, you will oversee the entire technological vision and execution of the platform. You will collaborate closely with the founder and build the engineering team from the ground up to scale the product and technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the complete technical strategy, system architecture, and product roadmap.
- Oversee the end-to-end event booking workflow including vendor matching, contract management, and approval processes.
- Manage ticketing and checkout functionalities such as payments, personalized QR passes, and live capacity tracking.
- Administer the payment setup using Stripe Connect to facilitate member payments and vendor payouts.
- Ensure platform security, reliability, and make critical decisions on development priorities including build versus buy evaluations.
Technology Stack
The current technology stack includes React and TypeScript (using TanStack Start) deployed on Cloudflare Workers, Supabase (Postgres), Stripe Connect, and n8n automation. Prior direct experience with this stack is not mandatory; however, you must be capable of architecting, delivering, and autonomously owning the platform.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in leading or founding engineering roles with full stack web applications developed and shipped end-to-end.
- Strong ability to independently own architectural decisions and technical prioritization without direct oversight.
- Experience working with payment systems, marketplaces, or monetary platforms valued highly for their reliability and security demands.
- Aspirations to serve as a technical co-founder rather than an employee, with enthusiasm for team building and leadership.
- User-focused with an agile approach to product development.
