Role Summary

This full-time remote position is based in Lagos and is centered on checking and improving chemistry-related AI outputs. The evaluator will review answers and solutions produced by AI systems to confirm they are scientifically correct, easy to understand, and suitable for educational or professional use. The work includes spotting mistakes, missing steps, or weak reasoning, then returning clear feedback that helps improve model quality.

Key Work Areas

• Assess AI-generated chemistry content for factual accuracy, clarity, and alignment with expected standards.
• Review explanations, calculations, equations, and step-by-step problem solving for general, organic, physical, and analytical chemistry topics.
• Identify errors, inconsistencies, and incomplete reasoning in model outputs.
• Provide structured feedback to help technical teams improve the system.
• Help create and refine evaluation criteria and test datasets.
• Work with AI engineers and subject matter experts to strengthen chemistry-focused AI tools.
• Contribute to documentation, best practices, and guidance for high-quality chemistry content.

Qualifications

• Deep grounding in chemistry, with the ability to judge content across core branches of the subject.
• Prior experience reviewing scientific or technical material with a high level of precision.
• Strong ability to assess notation, equations, and logical reasoning in chemistry solutions.
• Capability to analyze AI outputs and communicate findings in a clear, organized way.
• Comfort using digital tools and working within data-oriented, AI-related workflows.
• Working understanding of how AI or machine learning systems are built and tested.
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Chemistry or a related discipline; postgraduate study is considered an advantage.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills, especially for simplifying complex chemistry topics.
• Collaborative, dependable, and able to handle several evaluations and deadlines at once.
• Experience in teaching, research, quality assurance, or scientific editing is a plus.

Work Setup

This is a remote role, though the position is described as being based in Lagos.
