Position Summary
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Data Center Engineer with comprehensive expertise in Cisco Data Center technologies to spearhead the design, implementation, and transition of our enterprise network infrastructure. The candidate must possess a CCIE certification and significant practical experience in deploying Cisco ACI fabrics, Nexus switching platforms, and Cisco UCS compute systems. This role is essential in advancing data center modernization efforts, ensuring robust availability, strong security, and smooth integration with virtualization solutions.
Key Duties
- Design, implement, and configure Cisco ACI fabric within enterprise data centers using Leaf-Spine architecture.
- Manage complex ACI policies including Tenants, VRFs, Bridge Domains, Endpoint Groups, Contracts, L3Out, and Application Profiles.
- Lead the strategic migration from traditional network infrastructures to Cisco ACI environments.
- Install, configure, and administer Cisco Nexus switches (9000, 7000, 5000 series) leveraging VXLAN EVPN, vPC, OSPF, BGP, and static routing protocols.
- Deploy and manage Cisco UCS B-Series and C-Series servers, including use of Fabric Interconnects, Service Profiles, VLANs, VSANs, firmware updates, and UCS Manager.
- Integrate Cisco ACI fabrics efficiently with virtualization platforms such as VMware vCenter and Hyper-V.
- Create detailed technical documentation: High-Level Designs, Low-Level Designs, Methods of Procedure, and As-Built records.
- Handle lifecycle operations including software upgrades, patching, system health assessments, and provide expert troubleshooting during implementations and maintenance periods.
Required Qualifications and Expertise
- Preferred certifications include CCIE Data Center or CCIE Routing & Switching, and Cisco Certified Specialist – ACI Implementation.
- Additional advantage for VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
- Experience of 5 to 10+ years in Cisco Data Center networking with at least 5 years executing Cisco ACI solutions in live environments.
- Successful deployment history of Cisco UCS infrastructures.
- Expertise in key network protocols: VXLAN, EVPN, vPC, VLAN, STP, HSRP, OSPF, and BGP.
- Desirable familiarity with storage networking (SAN), Fibre Channel, and VSAN.
- Knowledge or experience with automation tools like Ansible, Python, or Terraform is highly beneficial.
