Job description
Role Overview
The Category Specialist will oversee and enhance specific product categories across Florose's e-commerce channels. This position aims to boost category sales, maximize profitability, and maintain a competitive product mix by managing assortment, pricing, promotions, stock levels, and understanding customer demand.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee assigned product categories while tracking their commercial success.
- Refine product assortment by analyzing customer demand, seasonal trends, and business goals.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Operations teams to ensure optimal stock availability.
- Analyze pricing structures and assist in developing competitive pricing strategies with adequate profit margins.
- Develop and nurture strong partnerships with brands and key stakeholders, managing contracts to obtain advantageous terms.
- Coordinate category promotions, seasonal campaigns, special bundles, and marketing initiatives with the Marketing team.
- Identify top-selling and slow-moving products, proposing strategic actions accordingly.
- Perform competitive and market analyses related to products, pricing, promotions, and emerging opportunities.
- Support the sourcing and introduction of new products and categories aligned with market demands.
- Ensure product data accuracy across digital platforms including titles, descriptions, imagery, attributes, and pricing.
- Collaborate closely with multiple departments such as Marketing, Procurement, Content, Operations, and Technology to implement category plans.
- Generate regular performance reports and recommendations for leadership.
- Assist in forecasting and planning for peak seasons and special occasions.
- Maintain insights into customer behaviors and purchase trends relevant to assigned categories.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, E-commerce, or related discipline.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in category management roles.
- Strong analytical capabilities for interpreting sales and performance metrics.
- Good grasp of pricing, margin analysis, promotions, assortment strategies, and inventory control.
- Proficiency in Excel and generating comprehensive reports.
- Prior experience in e-commerce environments.
- Excellent communication and ability to collaborate across functions.
- Fluency in Arabic and English languages.
- Experience in industries such as flowers, gifting, beauty, lifestyle, or premium retail is advantageous.
