About the Role

Massey University Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa is seeking an experienced Career and Development Consultant to join its Student Development & Partnerships team based at the Manawatū campus. This full-time, permanent position offers a salary range from $71,274 to $101,329 for a 1.0 full-time equivalent working 37.5 hours per week. The role centers on empowering students to confidently navigate their career paths and develop employability skills that facilitate smooth transitions into employment, entrepreneurship, or further study.

Key Responsibilities

Create and implement career readiness and employability programmes tailored to student needs.
Deliver personalized career guidance and coaching through both face-to-face and online formats.
Assist students in effectively showcasing their skills via CVs, portfolios, LinkedIn profiles, and interviews.
Promote leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurial capacity among students.
Collaborate with academic personnel, employers, and alumni to develop substantive developmental experiences.
Supervise and mentor Massey Guides, Career Centre Ambassadors, and interns as necessary.

Candidate Profile

Holds a tertiary qualification in career development or fields related to career guidance, human resources, organizational psychology, or learning and development.
Brings a minimum of five years' relevant experience in career development, learning, employability, or associated disciplines.
Exemplifies strong communication and relationship-building abilities, able to engage effectively with both student body and staff.
Adopts a student-centric and inclusive approach displaying high emotional intelligence.
Possesses understanding and commitment towards Te Tiriti o Waitangi, striving to enhance bicultural competence.

Preferred Experience

Prior experience working within tertiary education or recruitment sectors is advantageous but not mandatory.
