Role Overview

The Business Intelligence Engineer will architect and maintain scalable data pipelines, convert raw data into analytics-ready formats, and develop comprehensive reporting solutions that empower strategic decision-making. Approximately 65% of the work involves backend ETL development with SQL, Alteryx, Python, Snowflake, and Oracle, while 35% focuses on creating Tableau dashboards and analytical reports. This role supports multiple departments including Inventory Control, Yield, Operations, Call Center/Dialer, Loyalty/Owner Engagement, and Executive teams. Responsibilities include gathering business requirements, interpreting operational logic, and devising automated workflows and BI solutions that enhance data accuracy, operational efficiency, and revenue performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and sustain automated data pipelines leveraging SQL, Alteryx, Python, Snowflake, and Oracle.
  • Collect and document business needs and operational rules from various organizational stakeholders.
  • Convert complex business rules from multiple functions into scalable ETL processes.
  • Cleanse, transform, and validate extensive datasets from LMS, TSW, Oracle, and other systems.
  • Optimize pipeline speed, reliability, and data currency.
  • Collaborate with IT on schema alignment and resolve integration issues.
  • Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards supporting Inventory, Operations, Marketing, Call Center, Loyalty, and Executive leadership.
  • Create and refine reporting tools for forecasting, budgeting, operational monitoring, and yield optimization.
  • Conduct tests to assure data and logic accuracy.
  • Provide analytical and reporting support for inventory control, operations, call center, loyalty programs, sales, finance, and executive leadership.
  • Analyze performance trends and operational metrics to identify issues and opportunities.
  • Partner cross-functionally to gather requirements and validate analytical solutions.
  • Execute data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in developing ETL workflows using Alteryx, Python, or similar tools.
  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related disciplines; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake, Oracle, LMS, TSW, and enterprise data ecosystems.
  • Proficient in Tableau or equivalent data visualization software.
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, formulas, and modeling.
  • Strong ability to handle large datasets and perform detailed data reconciliation.
  • Competent in interpreting complex business processes and translating them into technical specifications.
  • Strong quantitative analytical ability to discern trends and business impacts.
  • Understanding of sales forecasting, yield management, call center metrics, and KPIs.
