About the Role
Savino Del Bene, a key player in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Storage fields, is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team at Changi, East Region, Singapore. This on-site position focuses on driving new business and nurturing existing client relationships within the freight forwarding sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new sales opportunities by targeting freight forwarding clients.
- Maintain strong, lasting partnerships with current and prospective key accounts to boost revenue and client retention.
- Market and advocate the comprehensive range of logistics solutions offered by Savino Del Bene to achieve yearly sales objectives.
- Promote and sell integrated freight forwarding and logistics services such as ocean and air import/export, FCL/LCL consolidation, warehousing, distribution, LTL transportation, customs brokerage, cargo insurance, and ancillary value-added services.
- Generate leads and qualify prospects through cold calling, networking, referrals, and market analysis.
- Organize and conduct meetings to understand client logistics challenges and convert leads into contracts.
- Prepare and present professional proposals, tenders, and quotations to potential clients.
- Negotiate competitive pricing with shipping lines, airlines, co-loaders, and vendor partners.
- Collaborate with Operations and Customer Service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery.
- Maintain up-to-date sales records and pricing data within the CRM system.
- Promptly address client inquiries and facilitate an excellent customer service experience.
- Assist the Finance team by tracking overdue payments and following up on outstanding accounts.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least three years of practical experience within freight forwarding operations, sales, ocean or air import/export processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of international freight procedures, Incoterms, customs regulations, and global trade documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong negotiation and presentation abilities.
- Self-driven and capable of working independently as well as cooperatively in teams.
- Proven success in securing new business and managing client accounts is highly desirable.
