Role Overview
The Business Development Executive will lead go-to-market execution, help win merchant accounts, and support the launch team on the ground. This is a high-impact, early-stage opportunity where you will shape the local sales approach, secure important partnerships, and contribute directly to initial revenue while building trust with local merchants.
This position suits someone with a builder mindset who performs well in fast-moving environments and is ready to take on a sales leadership-style role that turns strategy into measurable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and take ownership of the local go-to-market plan, including market entry strategy, target customer segments, pricing direction, partnership planning, and the sales model suited to the local market.
- Drive the early-stage sales process by presenting the company’s value proposition, conducting qualification discussions, and tailoring solutions for business decision-makers.
- Help move opportunities toward closure by working with the broader team on proposals and ensuring merchants are smoothly onboarded.
- Act as the market contact point by collecting merchant feedback and working with internal teams to adapt and improve the offering for local needs.
- Take responsibility for revenue goals and work actively to achieve and exceed targets for merchant acquisition and transaction volume.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in field sales, preferably in payments, POS, or SaaS.
- A clear history of hunting new business, meeting or surpassing sales targets, and managing the sales cycle from prospecting through closure.
- Strong familiarity with the local business environment, including cultural context, plus an existing network of merchants or business contacts in the region.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-moving, high-growth setting where processes are still developing, with a strong sense of ownership.
- Willingness to learn quickly and stay effective in ambiguous startup conditions.
