Business Analyst

About the Role

Velan Consulting Pty Ltd is looking for results-driven Business Analysts to join their team in Australia on a contract basis. This role involves a hybrid working model with remote work complemented by on-site presence two days per week, along with mandatory on-site attendance at quarterly interstate planning sessions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong, trusted relationships between business units and technical teams to ensure smooth collaboration.
• Lead workshops, engage stakeholders, and facilitate discussions to clarify business needs and prioritize objectives.
• Gather, analyze, and record detailed business requirements, workflows, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Proactively identify and address risks, issues, dependencies, and opportunities to keep projects on course.
• Assist in planning activities such as backlog management, business case creation, roadmap formulation, and delivery planning.
• Provide updates on progress, insights, risks, and recommendations to enable effective decision-making.
• Manage multiple simultaneous initiatives while keeping a strong focus on outcomes and timely delivery.
• Encourage a collaborative, positive, and high-performance culture within project teams.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated experience in data-related projects including reporting, analytics, or information management.
• Proven ability to collaborate closely with developers on technical specifications and requirements.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365, API integrations, or system architecture.
• Background in strategic planning, business case development, or roadmap support.
• Knowledge of data governance, quality assurance, or business intelligence principles.
• Experience working within government or other large, complex organizational environments.
