Position Overview

Calor Ireland is offering a permanent employment opportunity within their Bulk Operations Department for the role of Bulk Delivery Driver based in Scarriff, County Clare. This position involves delivering multiple fuel types, including LPG and LNG, to domestic, industrial, and commercial customers. The role operates on a rotating shift pattern including early morning, day, and afternoon shifts, working five out of seven days inclusive of weekends.

Primary Duties

  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-shift vehicle health and safety inspections before leaving the depot.
  • Perform deliveries of LPG, LNG, and other fuels adhering to company procedures, servicing single or multiple stops for diverse customer segments.
  • Operate vehicles safely and efficiently in accordance with highway regulations.
  • Utilize onboard computer technology to accurately record delivery information.
  • Participate in required training sessions and ongoing assessments.
  • Refuel vehicles at shift start or end following established refueling protocols.
  • Keep vehicle and cab clean and well-maintained.
  • Immediately report accidents, incidents, or safety issues per company guidelines.
  • Complete and submit near miss reports and daily administrative paperwork at shift completion.
  • Abide by company policies detailed in the driver and training manuals.
  • Assist in training fellow drivers as necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with driver hour restrictions and tachograph regulations, including mandatory breaks.
  • Adapt to flexible working hours, including potential after-hours emergency duties and start times from as early as 4:00 am or late from 6:00 pm.
  • Operate all truck technologies proficiently.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proficient in written and spoken English and possess a strong foundation in mathematics, ideally with completion of leaving certificate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience driving Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs).
  • Valid, clean HGV license suitable for rigid and articulated tankers.
  • Holds current ADR certification for bulk gases covering packages and tanks.
  • Driver CPC qualification with up-to-date CPC modules completed.
  • Experienced in both single and multiple drop deliveries.
  • Certified in Manual Handling and Working at Height.
  • Strong Health and Safety knowledge and awareness.
  • Fully trained in Tachograph regulations related to driving hours and breaks.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills demonstrating a customer-first mentality.
  • Good geographic knowledge of the Republic of Ireland.
  • Familiarity with LPG and LNG products is advantageous.
  • Understanding of vehicle mechanics and digital logistics are beneficial.
