Board Member

About the Role

Craigdale Housing Association, a committed Scottish charity and social landlord managing 407 properties in the Castlemilk area, is seeking voluntary Board Members to aid in leading the organization. The Board meets monthly, providing strategic leadership, setting objectives, and overseeing organizational performance to ensure quality and affordable housing services for the community. Training and support are available for new members.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend monthly Board meetings, including ten evening sessions annually, and participate in annual planning and review meetings.
• Provide strategic direction, leadership, and governance to the Association.
• Monitor, evaluate, and contribute to organizational improvements and service delivery.
• Support the development and delivery of objectives aligned with community needs.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Expertise in areas such as housing management, finance, health and safety compliance, human resources, and senior officer leadership.
• Experience or knowledge relevant to the housing and social landlord sector is valued.
• Current tenants interested in contributing to decision-making are especially encouraged to apply.
• Passion for providing excellent, affordable homes and community services.

Additional Information

• Successful candidates initially join as co-optees, pending formal election at the Annual General Meeting in September.
• Meetings are primarily in-person but offer a virtual attendance option.
• This is a voluntary, unpaid position; however, out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
