Blast Operator – FIFO Roles Across Pilbara Sites

Role Overview

Join Rio Tinto's Drill and Blast teams as a Blast Operator across various Pilbara mine locations. Key Responsibilities

• Promote and reinforce a positive safety culture, ensuring safety awareness and compliance in all blast-related activities.
• Drive continuous operational improvements by identifying, evaluating, and applying best practice enhancements.
• Work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders to accomplish work responsibilities effectively.
• Handle all tasks related to explosive materials safely, including maintenance of explosive compounds to standards.
• Adhere strictly to the blast plan during operations.
• Perform inventory management tasks such as stocktaking magazine inventories.
• Inspect all blasting equipment to confirm proper functioning and compliance with safety regulations.
• Carry out sampling assignments as required.

Candidate Profile

• Strong commitment to safety, prioritizing the well-being of self and colleagues.
• Valid Australian C Class manual driver’s license or higher.
• Team-oriented, flexible, and capable of working safely under varying business needs.
• Possession of a Dangerous Goods Licence is required.
• Previous experience operating MPU and small loaders is advantageous.
