About the Role
This contract opportunity is for biology specialists who can help assess and strengthen AI systems designed to solve challenging scientific problems. Your subject knowledge will be used to improve how AI interprets and explains biology, including topics from cell biology and molecular processes to advanced biochemical pathways.
You will be contributing to a broader effort that supports leading AI research teams in building models that are more capable, accurate, and scientifically reliable.
Role Details
- Organization: Alignerr
- Work arrangement: Hourly contract
- Location: Remote
- Time commitment: 10 to 40 hours per week
Key Work
- Create challenging, advanced biology questions that test AI systems thoroughly
- Write clear, guided solutions that show expert-level biological reasoning
- Review AI outputs for factual correctness and logical soundness
- Partner with researchers to improve evaluation benchmarks across undergraduate and master’s-level biology topics
- Offer structured written feedback that can be used to refine model performance
Candidate Profile
- Currently studying for, or already holding, a master’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline
- Strong analytical ability and scientific problem-solving skills in advanced biology areas
- Comfortable explaining complex scientific ideas clearly and accurately in writing
- Careful, precise, and committed to high standards of accuracy
- Self-directed and able to work independently on an asynchronous schedule
- No previous AI background is required
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to data annotation, quality review, or evaluation workflows
- Understanding of artificial intelligence or machine learning processes
- Experience across multiple biology specializations such as molecular biology, genetics, or physiology
