Bartender (Aqua Lounge)

About the Role

This position is for a bartender at Aqua Lounge in Doha, Qatar, within Marriott International’s food and beverage team. The role is non-managerial and is scheduled as a full-time on-site job.

Key Responsibilities

• Mix and serve beverages according to the prescribed recipes and measurement standards.
• Open, pour, and serve wine and champagne bottles as required.
• Keep the bar, bar equipment, tables, and related tools clean, organized, and in good condition.
• Prepare fresh drink garnishes and restock ice, glassware, and paper supplies.
• Move supplies to the bar setup area and wash used glassware and bar items.
• Clear used wares from the bar and tables and place them in the designated collection area.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs in a timely manner.
• Handle all payment methods, balance the bank at shift end, complete cashier reports, address discrepancies, and secure receipts and cash.
• Store liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and other storage areas safely and securely.
• Complete all closing tasks and follow assigned procedures.

Work Standards and Physical Requirements

The role requires strict adherence to company policies, safety and security guidelines, and service standards. The bartender must report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, complete required safety training, maintain a clean and professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and interact with guests and colleagues in a courteous, professional manner. The job also involves extended standing, sitting, or walking during the shift, lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds without assistance, using fine motor skills, working in narrow or elevated areas, navigating stairs and uneven or slippery surfaces, and bending, reaching, twisting, pulling, and stooping as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and at least 1 year of related work experience. No supervisory experience is required, and no license or certification is needed.
