Role overview
Birbal AI is hiring a Development Lead to guide backend engineering teams building secure, scalable, cloud-first services that support AI-driven government platforms in Abu Dhabi.
What you'll do
In this role, you will direct backend development efforts, shape technical delivery, and help ensure the services are designed for reliability, security, and scale.
Experience and technical profile
- You should bring more than 10 years of experience in backend software development.
- At least 3 years should be in a people leadership or engineering leadership role.
- Hands-on exposure to UAE government entities or government-owned organizations is required.
- Strong command of one or more of the following is expected: Java, .NET, Go, Python, or Node.js.
- You should have built enterprise-grade systems using a microservices architecture.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Azure is important.
- Capability in designing REST APIs and working with distributed system patterns is needed.
- Prior work in regulated sectors such as government, banking, telecom, or healthcare is preferred/expected.
