Position Summary
This role calls for an experienced MH-60/H-60 avionics technician who can carry out planned maintenance interval inspections as well as organizational, intermediate, and depot-level upkeep on H-60 helicopters. The work includes diagnosing faults, testing systems, carrying out inspections and repairs, and servicing aircraft radios, radar, navigation gear, and other fast-communication equipment. Strong hands-on knowledge of wiring and connector repair is essential. The position is based in Jubail, Eastern, Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out avionics maintenance on H-60 helicopters, including MH-60R aircraft and associated systems.
- Repair major assemblies and subassemblies, and replace wiring and connectors as needed.
- Apply knowledge of electronic theory to support troubleshooting and repair work.
- Inspect, diagnose, isolate faults, and complete corrective actions on electrical and utility systems.
- Use and maintain ground support equipment, and properly handle common, special, and precision tools used in maintenance.
- Complete maintenance paperwork, records, forms, and reports using the required references and publications, including the NAMP.
- Provide on-the-job training to Saudi technicians and other personnel, while keeping training records up to date.
Required Qualifications
- At least 8 years of current or prior experience in complex helicopter electrical work.
- Experience should include installation, testing, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, alignment, modification, and final test calibration.
- Ability to solve difficult in-flight problems that may not be reproducible on the ground.
- Strong understanding of how flight characteristics affect electronic systems.
- Working knowledge of search and navigation radar, communications, navigation, electronic countermeasures, data computing, recording systems, weapons computers, and inertial measurement systems.
- Ability to use test equipment such as voltmeters, signal generators, sweep and pulse generators, dual-trace oscilloscopes, deviation meters, sweep carts, and precision power and frequency devices.
- Comfortable working with test sets that reveal issues not always visible during bench repairs.
- Capable of reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and technical directives.
- Experience working with miniaturized solid-state circuits and devices.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools commonly used in the trade.
- Solid grasp of digital and analog computers, algebra, and trigonometry.
- Must pass a background investigation and drug screening.
Preferred Experience
- Navy aviation avionics background, especially AE and MH-60R / HSM / HSC experience.
- Exposure to Airborne Low-Frequency Sonar (ALFS): AN/AQS-22.
- Experience with the Sonobuoy Processing System.
- Familiarity with Multi-Mode Radar: AN/APS-153(V).
- Knowledge of open-architecture mission computer systems.
Clearance and Authorization
- Must be eligible to obtain and keep a DoW Secret Clearance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials and authorization.
- US citizenship is required to qualify for Secret Clearance.
- The workplace is drug-free, and post-offer/pre-employment substance testing is required.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available where appropriate.
- Work may require extended periods of walking and standing on level or inclined surfaces.
- Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.
- Must be able to distinguish colors and judge depth in three dimensions.
