Job Overview
The Assistant Resident Manager oversees the daily functioning of assigned apartment buildings. This includes cleaning, performing minor maintenance, managing administrative duties, and ensuring exceptional customer service for tenants.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas by sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning glass and metal surfaces, treating carpet stains, and using air fresheners regularly.
- Prepare apartments for new tenants after move-outs by thoroughly cleaning floors, bathrooms, surfaces, and windows to ensure they are ready for rent.
- Carry out outdoor seasonal maintenance tasks such as raking leaves, tending flower beds, snow removal, salting walkways, and performing minor repairs as required.
- Empty trash containers and maintain cleanliness around waste disposal areas.
- Support administrative functions including processing rental applications, leases, move-in/out inspections, rent collection, deposits, sending tenant notices, and organizing the rental office.
- Manage tenant communications by monitoring phone inquiries, tracking rental interest, and delivering excellent customer service to maintain tenant satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Completion of high school diploma or a minimum of three years of relevant experience in cleaning or maintenance.
- Proficient with computers including Word, Excel, email, and internet skills.
- Familiarity with local regulations, industry standards, municipal bylaws, and applicable provincial laws such as the Residential Tenancy Act, Building and Fire Codes, and Occupational Health and Safety Act is advantageous.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds, and perform actions involving bending, pushing, pulling, and stair navigation.

- Compensation: $46,000 annually which includes rent-free accommodation.
