Responsibilities

The role focuses on loss prevention, store operations, and partnership with internal and external stakeholders.

• Deliver courteous, professional, and informed support to clients when needed.
• Monitor the sales floor and use CCTV to spot, track, and stop or discourage external theft attempts.
• Follow all applicable laws and company policies related to apprehension, search and seizure, and evidence handling.
• Document theft events, recovered merchandise, incident investigations, and audit results.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, local police, mall security, and nearby retailers.
• Appear in court for criminal or civil matters when summoned on the company’s behalf.
• Train new hires and provide ongoing employee coaching to keep loss prevention awareness strong.
• Carry out store audits, checklists, and safety inspections, then share findings with store leadership and the District Loss Prevention Manager.
• Support inventory preparation and the inventory process.
• Work with stores and the District Loss Prevention Manager to create and implement shrink-reduction plans.
• Meet the minimum weekly shift and hour requirements for the role.
• Be available for the stated schedule expectations for full-time or part-time work as applicable.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of asset protection or loss prevention experience in a retail setting.
• Ability to meet and keep any required licensing obligations under provincial or local rules.
• Strong communication skills, including writing, speaking, interviewing, listening, and interpersonal interaction.
• Calm, composed approach with the ability to coach others effectively in the moment on loss prevention practices.
• Working knowledge of Windows, Word, and Excel is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and days, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work across multiple store locations within a market.
• Comfort working in a fragrance-filled environment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend and stretch while stocking shelves.
• Availability expectations: Full time roles require 30–40 hours per week; part time roles require 16–20 hours per week.

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position is CAD 25.00 to CAD 30.00 per hour. The role may also include performance-based bonus opportunities, a competitive benefits package, and learning and development support designed to encourage growth, recognition, and employee support.
