Assembly Technician

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Assembly Technician to join our team in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The position involves carrying out technical and mechanical duties such as grinding, chemical cleaning, and process treatments while adhering to safety and production standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute technical and mechanical activities including grinding, chemical cleaning, and process treatments.
• Safely perform production and service tasks following controlled procedures.
• Manage work to ensure traceability and accountability.
• Monitor and control critical quality-related items.
• Engage in continuous improvement programs such as 5S and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
• Work both independently and collaboratively in a production environment.
• Maintain accurate documentation and traceability of performed work.
• Comply with company procedures for production tasks and safety standards.
• Interpret blueprints and follow written work instructions thoroughly.

Additional Duties

• Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Keep the work area orderly and clean, conforming to 5S practices.
• Perform other related tasks as required by management.

Educational & Experience Requirements

• Minimum completion of high school education.
• Technical diploma preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in assembly of small components and hardware installation within a manufacturing setting.

Physical & Environmental Demands

• Repetitive assembly-related tasks.
• Extended periods of sitting and some standing.
• Ability to lift and handle materials between 10 to 30 pounds.
• Working in a shop floor environment with potential exposure to chemicals and slip/trip hazards.
