Job Overview
The Area Credit Manager role involves managing the credit underwriting operations and reviewing credit applications within the designated region. The position demands close collaboration with local credit analysts and sales teams to speed up credit proposal processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee credit underwriting processes and assess loan proposals for the assigned region.
- Collaborate closely with credit analysts and sales staff to ensure timely credit lending decisions.
- Implement risk mitigation measures as necessary, while ensuring compliance with legal requirements, documentation policies, and company standards.
- Highlight potential credit risks and recommend appropriate mitigating strategies to support decision-making by authorized approvers.
- Continuously monitor and review credit exposures to verify their ongoing viability and bankability.
- Ensure proper documentation and follow-through from pre-sanction to post-disbursement phases to maintain client creditworthiness.
- Authorize credit proposals within delegated approval limits, and escalate more complex cases to the National Risk Management or Credit Committee for final decisions.
- Lead and inspire a dispersed team operating across multiple locations and serving various business segments.
