Role overview
This contract position is for an Arabic transcription specialist who can accurately convert audio into written Modern Standard Arabic (MSA). The work is fully remote and is expected to range from 10 to 40 hours each week. Compensation is offered at an hourly rate of $10 to $20.
Key duties
- Convert audio recordings into clear, accurate Modern Standard Arabic text.
- Check machine-produced transcripts and refine them for correctness and readability.
- Attach relevant metadata labels and annotations to support AI-oriented data preparation.
- Listen for context within the audio and note any important linguistic details or nuances.
- Maintain a high level of precision to ensure consistently strong transcription quality.
- Work with the client team and communicate feedback clearly in both written and spoken form regarding data quality.
Required background
- Strong command of Modern Standard Arabic in both written and spoken communication.
- Demonstrated experience in audio transcription with a track record of accuracy and close attention to detail.
- Capability in creating, organizing, and managing metadata tags and annotations for audio or text assets.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- Ability to detect issues in machine-generated transcripts and correct them effectively.
