Arabia GTM Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) Manager

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic professional to join as the Arabia Go-To-Market (GTM) Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) Manager, responsible for overseeing SHE and security initiatives across Unilever's non-manufacturing operations in the Arabia region, including KSA, UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait. This role is pivotal in safeguarding employees, contractors, visitors, logistics partners, and local communities while propelling the goal of Zero Harm.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the SHE and office security framework across GCC non-manufacturing sites, ensuring strict adherence to relevant local laws, Unilever standards, and internal governance.
• Maintain and oversee risk assessments, emergency preparedness, and assurance activities.
• Manage safety and security protocols for office environments, including fire safety measures, emergency drills, evacuation plans, first aid, and access controls.
• Perform security risk evaluations and ensure prompt corrective action implementation.
• Champion the road safety program for sales teams, company vehicles, shuttle services, and third-party transport, encompassing journey management, defensive driving, telematics, dashcam compliance, fatigue and speed control.
• Ensure compliance of third-party logistics warehousing and transportation providers with Unilever's Minimum Mandatory Requirements through audits, inspections, gap analysis, and follow-ups on corrective measures.
• Lead comprehensive investigations of incidents related to offices, transport, logistics, and contractors, conducting root cause analyses and ensuring lessons learned are integrated into operations.
• Create and execute SHE and security training initiatives tailored to employees, contractors, and partners to cultivate a robust Zero Harm culture.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators for SHE, security, road safety, and logistics, employing data from incidents, audits, telematics, and training to drive ongoing improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Security Management, Logistics, or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, NEBOSH Diploma, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, or equivalents.
• Proven track record in managing SHE programs across multiple countries and sites.
• Comprehensive understanding of office safety, contractor oversight, emergency response, road and logistics safety, and security management.
• Experience with warehouse and transportation compliance management.
• Strong leadership, influencing abilities, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.

Preferred Experience

• Background in multinational FMCG, logistics, supply chain, transportation, retail, industrial or distribution sectors.
• Experience handling SHE programs specifically in non-manufacturing contexts.
• Proven success collaborating with third-party logistics providers and contractors.
• Robust auditing, assurance, and compliance management expertise.
• Familiarity with GCC regulations and regional operational environments.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, onsite position based primarily in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia or Dubai, UAE. The role reports directly to the PTAB GTM SHE Manager.
