Android Developer

Position Summary

This role is for an Android Developer based in Saudi Arabia, collaborating with a partner firm responsible for application management and recruitment processes. The position involves developing high-quality Android mobile applications serving a global user base, working closely with teams including product managers, designers, backend engineers, and QA professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and enhance Android apps using efficient, clean, and well-documented code.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of mobile applications: from concept and development through testing, deployment, maintenance, and ongoing upgrades.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful features enhancing user experiences.
• Develop and run unit and UI tests; diagnose and fix application issues to ensure stability and performance.
• Monitor app health utilizing tools like Crashlytics and ANR reporting; act proactively to resolve technical problems.
• Implement analytics tracking, support feature rollout processes, configure applications, and participate in A/B testing to refine product effectiveness.
• Maintain and improve existing legacy apps while adopting new features, technologies, and best development practices.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest Android technologies, frameworks, and trends to continually enhance application quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in professional Android application development.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin and Java programming for Android platforms.
• Proven experience publishing and managing apps on the Google Play Store.
• Deep understanding of object-oriented programming and Android app architecture principles.
• Experience with integration of third-party libraries, APIs, and mobile services.
• Familiarity with application monitoring tools such as Crashlytics, ANR reporting, and performance metrics analysis.
• Expertise in product analytics and event tracking, preferably using Firebase Analytics or similar tools.
• Strong analytical and debugging capabilities, with emphasis on reusable, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Availability to work overlapping time zones from GMT+2 to GMT+7.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with streaming applications, WebRTC, WebSocket technologies, and a solid grasp of mobile UI/UX and visual design principles.
