Role Overview
Based in Wellington, this permanent full-time Advisor position offers an opportunity to deliver impactful advice that supports government and Ministry initiatives. The role involves analyzing complex matters, engaging with diverse stakeholders, and contributing to both policy and operational activities aimed at promoting equity and enhancing outcomes for New Zealanders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide well-researched, high-quality advice to facilitate government decision-making and advance Ministry priorities.
- Handle a varied workload with competing deadlines, ensuring deliverables meet quality and timeliness expectations.
- Engage collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders on projects, work programs, and ministry-wide efforts.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships grounded in an understanding of governmental processes to support effective stakeholder engagement.
- Promote continuous improvement by enhancing procedures, tools, and frameworks, while ensuring adherence to Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations and a commitment to equity.
Candidate Qualifications and Skills
- Relevant tertiary education or equivalent experience demonstrating strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exhibit sound judgment and critical thinking capacity to formulate options and deliver top-quality advice.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with ability to tailor messaging for a range of audiences.
- Proven organizational and stakeholder management skills, adept at operating in complex settings with multiple priorities and understanding of government machinery.
