Job description
Job Overview
This role supports business operations by continuously overseeing, analyzing, and enhancing Advanced Process Control (APC) schemes to achieve peak operational efficiency and maintain asset integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine mid- and long-term APC technical outcomes against both internal and industry benchmarks to maintain consistent optimization.
- Detect persistent APC issues or limitations and suggest sustainable solutions along with various optimization opportunities.
- Lead and engage in Management of Change procedures related to APC adjustments and provide process control support during plant and process alterations.
- Monitor key technical and economic performance indicators to evaluate the influence of process control on system efficiency.
- Advise operational teams on overarching APC strategies for specific units to ensure enhanced performance.
- Carry out internal and external studies on process control and APC practices to align company efforts with industry standards.
- Guarantee optimization and high availability of APC systems in the ethylene unit and other production units.
- Participate in leading digital transformation projects within the company.
- Identify opportunities for continuous enhancement of operational systems, processes, and methods to boost productivity and efficiency.
- Adhere to all relevant departmental policies, processes, procedures, and instructions to ensure standardized and controlled operations.
- Ensure compliance with all quality, health, safety, security, and environmental regulations to safeguard personnel and product quality.
- Assist in preparing accurate and timely departmental reports adhering to prescribed standards.
- Support the development of Qatari employees, particularly relevant to expatriate staff.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Control Engineering is required.
- A minimum of five years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector with at least three years functioning as an Advanced Process Control analyst.
- Experience in ethylene and polyethylene manufacturing processes is essential.
- Background in the Petrochemicals industry is advantageous.
