Position Overview and Key Duties
The Administrative Officer is responsible for overseeing all facility programs and ensuring maintenance meets regulatory requirements. This role handles student-related administrative functions including registration, attendance, academic records, and tuition status. Reporting duties involve preparing documentation using information management systems for administrative and staff use.
Resource optimization and administrative service improvements are essential functions. The officer develops manpower management programs, plans annual budgets to comply with laws and regulations, and prepares long-range program and operation plans and budget forecasts. Supervisory responsibilities include managing a team of technicians.
Qualifications and Employment Conditions
Applicants must satisfy specific conditions such as U.S. citizenship, selective service certification if male and born after December 31, 1959, direct deposit enrollment, suitability determined by a background check, and a Tier 1 investigation with childcare checks due to interaction with minors. Financial disclosure reports are required initially and annually.
Eligibility is limited to certain categories including current DoWEA or DoW civilian employees, defense industrial base personnel, and workforce transition programs. Applicants must meet education and experience qualifications demonstrated by at least one year of specialized experience related to budget management and manpower support, or alternatively hold a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or apply a combination of graduate education and experience totaling 100% of requirements.
Applicants who have held a General Schedule position must meet time-in-grade requirements. Foreign education must be verified for equivalency to U.S. education standards.
