Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Accountant will handle comprehensive accounting responsibilities that ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and optimal financial controls. Close collaboration with internal teams will be required to provide daily accounting assistance, manage reconciliations, reporting, and contribute to process enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting tasks encompassing accounts payable and receivable activities.
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations alongside preparation of financial reports.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Manage processing of invoices, payments, and financial transactions methodically.
• Track costs, expenses, and the financial performance of operational areas.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting initiatives.
• Maintain precise financial records and facilitate audit processes.
• Identify and implement improvements in accounting workflows and efficiencies.
• Provide accounting support to various operational teams within the transport and logistics business.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of relevant accounting qualifications or commensurate experience.
• Demonstrated prior accounting experience within a commercial setting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.
• Exceptional detail orientation and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational aptitude and time management capabilities.
• Ability to work autonomously and handle multiple competing priorities efficiently.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster relationships throughout the business.
• Experience in transport, logistics, or supply chain sectors is highly advantageous.
