Accountant

About the role

A Riyadh-based organization is seeking a meticulous Accountant to support day-to-day finance activities and safeguard the accuracy of its records. This position focuses on keeping books up to date, ensuring compliance with Saudi accounting rules, and supporting reporting and control processes.

Core responsibilities

• Keep financial records current and accurate, including the general ledger, journal postings, and invoicing, in line with SOCPA requirements.
• Handle payables and receivables while making sure transactions are processed on time and properly reconciled.
• Assist the team with VAT filing preparation.
• Match bank statements and investigate any differences that arise.
• Support month-end and year-end closing work, including preparation of the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
• Communicate effectively with internal departments and outside stakeholders.
• Check supporting documents before invoices are issued.
• Ensure payroll-related actions comply with Saudi labor rules for pay, benefits, and deductions, where applicable.
• Review payroll before it moves to the next processing stage.
• Contribute to internal and external audits, including coordination with Saudi auditors and relevant government bodies.
• Help with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for business decisions.
• Use local accounting tools such as SAP or MS Dynamics, along with advanced Excel, for reporting and analysis.
• Protect confidential information and follow company policies and Saudi financial regulations.

Qualifications and skills

The ideal applicant holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar discipline. A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience is required, ideally gained in Saudi Arabia or across the GCC. Strong knowledge of VAT, WHT, Zakat, and Saudi GAAP/SOCPA is expected. The role also calls for fluent Arabic and English communication skills, both written and spoken, plus strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and the discipline to work to deadlines.

Additional details

The job is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and is a full-time onsite position. Experience with Saudi financial systems is considered highly desirable.
