Job Overview
We are seeking an Account Assistant proficient in Tally Prime to join Kings Trading Company in Chennai. This role involves precise maintenance of daily accounting records, handling GST and TDS related tasks, bank and ledger reconciliations, and preparing financial statements to support company operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate daily accounts using Tally Prime by recording purchases, sales, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
- Verify and input supplier purchase invoices accurately.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable efficiently.
- Prepare and validate supplier outstanding statements and facilitate online payments via NEFT/RTGS.
- Record bank transactions and conduct regular bank reconciliations.
- Maintain cash book records and verify daily cash dealings.
- Compile GST data and coordinate the GST filing process.
- Manage TDS computations, entries, and related documentation.
- Regularly reconcile supplier and customer ledgers for accuracy.
- Verify debit/credit notes and expense records thoroughly.
- Maintain comprehensive records of business expenditures and payments.
- Prepare monthly Profit & Loss statements and other accounting reports.
- Assist in account finalization and liaise with auditors or Chartered Accountants.
- Ensure proper filing and timely updating of invoices, vouchers, and accounting documents.
- Promptly identify and report any discrepancies or irregularities in accounts to management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proficient in Tally Prime accounting software.
- Sound knowledge of GST and TDS regulations.
- Experience in bank and ledger reconciliations.
- Competent user of Microsoft Excel with attention to detail.
- High level of accuracy and ability to handle confidential financial information.
- Preferably experienced in handling accounts for retail or trading companies.
