About the Role

We are seeking a Yard Operative to join our team at the Peterlee Operation Centre (SR8 2JQ). This full-time position operates Monday through Friday without bank holiday shifts, promoting an excellent work-life balance with more personal time.

Our Yard Operatives are vital to the smooth running of our operations, enjoying working outdoors in all weather conditions and possessing enthusiasm for vehicles and car-related tasks. The role involves timely responses to customer requests and ensuring service orders are completed within set deadlines. Operatives are responsible for storing and maintaining vehicles to meet customer and company standards and using handheld devices to capture vehicle images.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently handling customer requests and completing service tasks by deadlines
• Properly storing and maintaining vehicles in line with required standards
• Operating handheld devices to photograph vehicles accurately
• Working outdoors regardless of weather during standard weekday hours

Requirements

• Possession of a valid full driving licence
• Demonstrated experience in operating plant machinery such as forklift loaders or shovels
• Strong customer service skills with clear verbal and written communication abilities
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable using handheld devices and basic IT applications
• Capability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to perform outdoor work in all weather conditions
• Automotive experience is a desirable plus
