Overview

Pepkor Lifestyle is looking for a proficient and meticulous Webmaster to oversee, maintain, and enhance our portfolio of brand websites. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that our digital platforms are efficient, secure, visually captivating, and tailored to meet our commercial goals. The successful candidate will have strong expertise in web development technologies, a user-centric approach, and the capability to quickly identify and resolve technical challenges. Collaborating closely with cross-disciplinary teams from marketing, e-commerce, and design, the Webmaster will ensure all online interactions boost customer engagement and business expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily website operations and monitor overall site performance
• Deploy regular updates, site improvements, and introduce new features
• Guarantee that websites are responsive, load swiftly, and optimized for various devices
• Track analytics and key performance indicators to pinpoint and implement enhancements
• Troubleshoot and fix website issues promptly
• Coordinate content updates in partnership with marketing and design departments
• Utilize platforms such as Adobe Ecommerce Platform and Akeneo for support and configuration
• Ensure day-to-day operational support and proper configuration management
• Apply SEO best practices to elevate search engine rankings
• Perform routine website audits focusing on user experience, accessibility, and SEO compliance
• Maintain data privacy adherence (e.g., POPIA, GDPR) and employ cybersecurity best standards
• Stay updated on new web technologies, trends, and relevant retail/e-commerce tools
• Manage custom content and store configurations such as cart rules, product rules, matrix rates, and financial calculators

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
• At least 3 years of experience in managing websites and web development roles
• Expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with PHP, SQL, and version control systems like Git
• Hands-on experience with CMS platforms including Adobe Ecommerce Platform and Akeneo
• Thorough understanding of SEO methodologies, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics
• Knowledgeable about UX/UI best practices and responsive web design principles
• Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail
• Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize responsibilities independently
• Excellent communication abilities to effectively collaborate with diverse teams
