Key responsibilities

• Review plans, take measurements, mark out surfaces, and organise work areas before installation begins.
• Strip away old tiles, grout, and adhesive, then repair holes or cracks and clean the substrate thoroughly.
• Apply adhesive to the prepared surface and tiles, then place each tile with accuracy.
• Cut and shape tiles using the appropriate tools so edges, corners, fittings, and pipes are neatly finished.
• Maintain correct alignment and spacing to achieve a clean, consistent result.
• Apply grout, remove surplus material, and deliver a polished final look.
• Install waterproofing systems whenever required.
• Set floors using granolithic, terrazzo, cement, or similar composition materials.
• Create decorative mosaic work by placing coloured tiles in patterns.

Requirements

• Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling must be completed.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working as a Wall and Floor Tiler.
• At least 1 year of practical experience with a range of tile types, including ceramic, porcelain, stone, and mosaic.
• At least 1 year of experience with decorative and complex tile finishing.
• At least 1 year of proven work with ceramic, clay, slate, marble, porcelain, and glass tiles on both internal and external walls and floors.
• Ability to understand and follow plans and project specifications.
• High level of precision and close attention to detail.
• Comfortable using different tile-cutting tools and techniques.
• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.
• Working knowledge of waterproofing systems and related materials.
• Understanding of building construction standards and regulations.
• Ability to complete work to a consistently high quality.
