Job description
Position Overview
The company seeks skilled VTL Machinists for precision vertical turning and machining of aerospace parts within a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) setting in Singapore. The role demands hands-on expertise with vertical turning lathes, thorough inspection of components, and adherence to technical documentation, safety standards, and quality controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare tooling such as jigs and fixtures for vertical turning and related machining operations.
- Operate both manual and CNC vertical turning lathes, as well as lathe and milling machines.
- Carry out in-process measurements using micrometers, precision gauges, and standard measuring tools.
- Interpret and follow machining instructions from blueprints, engine manuals, and technical data.
- Conduct TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities and ensure machines and work areas are well-maintained.
- Identify opportunities to enhance machining processes, improve productivity, and maintain quality standards.
- Perform sheet metal fabrication or other tasks as necessary.
- Strictly follow safety guidelines, quality protocols, and maintain cleanliness in the workspace.
Candidate Requirements
- Between 3 to 5 years of machining experience in precision engineering, metalworking, or the aerospace industry.
- Proven proficiency in operating manual and/or CNC vertical turning lathes.
- Experience with conventional or CNC lathe and milling machinery.
- Good understanding of machining methods and the ability to read blueprints and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Competence in accurately using standard measuring instruments.
- Educational background preferably includes NITEC or Technical Certificate in Mechanical or Precision Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- Ability to comprehend technical directions and communicate effectively in English.
Additional Information
The position is open to both local and international applicants. Relocation to Singapore is mandatory.
