Role summary
Rolls-Royce Power Systems is seeking a Vice President of Quality to head the North America Quality function from Aiken, South Carolina. This senior leadership position oversees Production Quality for Aiken and Mankato, Reliability Engineering, and Emission Certification. The role is responsible for shaping and executing the regional quality and product compliance approach so it supports customer needs, legal and regulatory obligations, and global standards. It also focuses on raising operational performance, improving quality outcomes, and embedding a strong continuous-improvement mindset across the U.S. sites.

Key responsibilities
- Direct the North America Quality organization, covering Production Quality in Aiken and Mankato, Reliability Engineering, and Emission Certification.
- Set the quality strategy and ensure it aligns with customer expectations, business priorities, and improvement goals.
- Build and sustain quality systems and standards that comply with ISO 9001 and Rolls-Royce Power Systems requirements.
- Oversee regulatory and product compliance activities, including coordination of emission-related requirements across teams.
- Improve quality results through analytics, root-cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
- Resolve quality issues quickly and effectively, including customer complaints and field performance concerns.
- Serve as a senior representative with customers, regulators, and industry authorities on quality and compliance topics.
- Manage organizational effectiveness through leadership development, compliance and ethics culture, budgeting, forecasting, and productivity management.
Experience and eligibility requirements
- An Associate degree with at least 10 years of experience in engineering, quality, or manufacturing operations; or
- A Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of experience in engineering, quality, or manufacturing operations; or
- A Master’s degree with at least 6 years of experience in engineering, quality, or manufacturing operations; or
- A PhD with at least 3 years of experience in engineering, quality, or manufacturing operations; or
- At least 12 years of relevant engineering, quality, or manufacturing operations experience in place of a degree.
- Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States for any employer, as sponsorship is not available now and the company cannot assume or transfer visa sponsorship.
Preferred background
- Executive-level experience leading quality teams with strong capability in structured problem solving and improvement methods such as FMEA, PDCA, A3, and 8D.
- Solid commercial and operational judgment, including familiarity with production systems, cost control, Lean practices, and overall performance improvement.
- Ability to lead complex cross-functional programs in global settings, with strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory and product compliance, particularly emissions certification and requirements such as EPA and CARB.
- Strong skill in converting technical and engineering information into practical business decisions, including reading specifications and production requirements.
- Experience in multinational environments and cross-cultural teams; familiarity with American-German business practices and German language ability is preferred.
- Comfort using enterprise tools and systems such as SAP and Microsoft applications to support data-based decisions.
- A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
Compensation and benefits
The posted annual pay range for this position is $137,840 to $223,990. The role also includes access to a broader total rewards package, which features base pay and a discretionary bonus plan.
