Vice President, Project Management / PMO

About the Role

This leadership position is based in Philadelphia, PA, with a hybrid work model requiring onsite presence three days weekly, ideally Tuesday through Thursday. The Vice President of Project Management leads enterprise-wide efforts to refine and implement strategic project and program management initiatives, enhancing the company's capabilities and ensuring consistent excellence and client satisfaction across critical projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic guidance on managing technology implementations and continuous process improvements across the organization.
• Develop deep business knowledge of assigned initiatives and demonstrate strong competency in project execution.
• Manage and mentor a team of experienced project management professionals assigned to various clients, teams, and strategic projects, providing ongoing coaching and performance evaluations.
• Drive teams to deliver tangible business outcomes through clear delegation, coaching, and transparent communication.
• Establish and lead the adoption of best-in-class project management frameworks, methodologies, tools, and standards to improve project delivery success.
• Implement a regular reporting cadence (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to track project progress and ensure quality and on-time delivery.
• Define and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness.
• Continuously improve PMO processes by integrating the latest methodologies.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities, ensuring adherence to processes and standards while closing gaps through effective collaboration.
• Foster career growth and retention by nurturing team members’ professional development.

Success Metrics

• Create a scalable project management framework that enhances collaboration and program execution across departments.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Engineering, Data, Service Delivery, and Sales to promote alignment and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain structured reporting systems featuring clear KPIs supporting data-driven decisions.
• Optimize operations to achieve superior project delivery and operational excellence.
• Cultivate a culture of ongoing learning and team engagement.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 10 years leading program management functions, preferably within data, technology, healthcare, pharmaceutical, financial services, or military sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree is preferred.
• Hold a PMP certification.
• Strong commercial acumen with an in-depth understanding of business operations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Ability to conceptualize ideas and convert them into actionable initiatives.
• Strategic thinker with a keen eye for operational execution and detail.
• Superior communication and presentation skills to translate complex analyses into clear leadership messages.
• Proven expertise with complex project and program management, Agile methodologies, and product ownership.
• Proficient with project management software and related tools.

Compensation

The base salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, ranging from $170,000 to $205,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

Location and Work Arrangement

Primary office is in Center City, Philadelphia, with a hybrid model requiring three days onsite for local hires. Remote work is supported for employees in approved hub locations and states, including Boston, New York City, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham, Atlanta, Chicago, and states like CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, MA, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, TN, and VA. Team members in remote settings convene in person at least annually for team activities.
