Vice President of Technology (Lifescience)

Company Overview

The client is a prominent life science technology firm undergoing growth aimed at transforming from a hardware-centric product business to a platform-centric company powered by software and AI capabilities.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

• Clearly define system challenges and logic to aid stakeholder understanding.
• Lead architectural strategy across hardware, firmware, software, cloud, and AI technologies.
• Incorporate software engineering principles into hardware interface design to simplify instrumentation user experience.
• Oversee development and delivery of a next-generation software platform integrating AI features into seamless, workflow-oriented user experiences.
• Collaborate closely with Research & Development, Engineering, Applications, Product, and Commercial teams to ensure architectural alignment with operational limitations and business goals.

Requirements

• More than 10 years of experience in system architecture, platform engineering, or related fields.
• Proven ability to apply software development methods to hardware interfaces.
• Hands-on experience creating software for scientists or clinical healthcare applications.
• Background in Semiconductor, Medical Technology, or Industrial Automation industries, predominantly in life science instrumentation.
• Exceptional analytical mindset focused on defining and structuring ambiguous problems before devising solutions.
• Experienced in designing consumer or non-expert oriented interfaces for complex technological products.
