About the Role
The Vice President of Human Resources is a key leadership position at The Krusteaz Company and reports directly to the CEO. This role works closely with senior leadership to advance the company’s vision, support growth objectives, and guide transformation across the organization. As a senior HR leader, you will help shape and execute modern, strategic people solutions while strengthening an employee-centered culture rooted in KCO values. You will also participate as part of the Planning Team to help align strategic goals across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with executive leaders to build and execute an HR strategy that supports growth objectives, including merger and acquisition integration and executive team development.
- Oversee the full scope of human resources, including employee relations, labor and employment compliance, performance management, hiring and retention, salary review cycles, employee programs, learning and development, and related people policies.
- Lead talent management efforts with emphasis on performance systems, compensation review, learning programs, succession planning, and leadership development to attract and keep top performers.
- Use strong organizational assessment and design expertise to create, implement, and evaluate change management initiatives and solve organizational challenges.
- Define program metrics, review data, and share insights on the effectiveness and impact of HR programs, processes, and policies.
- Build and guide a high-performing HR organization across multiple sites, including Compensation and Benefits, Recruiting, Training, Communications, Community Engagement, HRIS, and Plant HR.
- Develop performance management approaches that are grounded in data and measurable outcomes.
- Stay current on industry developments and employment law to ensure compliance across all company locations.
- Encourage alignment between departments so policies, processes, and programs are applied consistently.
- Coach leaders and teams at all levels and recommend the right development methods and intervention strategies when needed.

- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
- Deep understanding of employment laws and regulations.
- Ability to act as an HR business partner and align people strategy with business priorities for senior leaders.
- Must be able to handle supervisory duties in line with company policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, work assignment, performance management, recognition, discipline, complaint resolution, and issue handling.
- Work environment may include standing, sitting, speaking, hearing, hand and finger use for computer and phone work, reaching, close visual focus for computer tasks, moderate noise, the ability to work in a confined area, and extended periods at a computer.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and operate well in a dynamic work setting.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is strongly preferred.
- Between 10 and 15 years of human resources management experience is required, with strategic HR, talent management, and/or business development experience preferred.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is strongly preferred.
Other Information
This role is based in Kent, WA and is a full-time, onsite position. The job may include additional duties, responsibilities, or activities as assigned or changed over time.
