About the Programme

The UNIQLO Management Candidate (UMC) Graduate Programme is an intensive 12-month leadership development journey aimed at motivated graduates eager to influence the future of retail with one of the world’s leading global brands. Participants will experience a fast-paced environment, learning extensively while making impactful contributions in a continuously evolving business setting.

Programme Structure and Learning Phases

Months 1–4: Foundation Phase

This initial stage involves hands-on experience on the retail floor, acquiring a solid grasp of customer interaction, product knowledge, and the operational excellence that defines UNIQLO stores.

Months 5–6: Leadership Development

Progressing to a supervisory role entails leading shop floor teams, optimizing daily operations, and embracing initial business responsibilities that cultivate trust and enhance performance.

  • Ensuring operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Managing a key subdivision and its daily outcomes.

Months 7–12: Business Advancement

In the final stage, participants act as assistant managers, collaborating with Store Managers to guide commercial strategies and operational plans.

  • Analysing sales data and monitoring key performance indicators.
  • Planning inventory and commercial activities.
  • Optimizing store layout and maintaining high standards.
  • Aligning workforce scheduling with sales forecasts.
  • Focusing on talent development and succession planning.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary of 53,210 EUR, including guaranteed bonus and profit-sharing schemes.

Candidate Requirements

  • University graduate with a bachelor's or master’s degree and authorized to work in Germany (graduate visa holders are eligible).
  • Availability to start full-time employment in March or September 2027.
  • Proficiency in English and German at a minimum B2 intermediate level; interviews conducted in the local language.
  • Willingness to work weekends and flexible shifts.
  • Openness to relocating within Germany if necessary.

Selection Process

  • Step 1: Online assessments, including language tests in English and the local language.
  • Step 2: In-person group assessment centre (attendance required for one country only if applying to multiple markets).
  • Step 3: Individual online interview.
  • Step 4: Final interview stage.
