UI Designer

About The Role

This position involves partnering with product management and engineering teams to devise and implement innovative product direction, visuals, and user experiences.

Responsibilities include managing all phases of visual design from initial concept through to final delivery to engineering, conducting user research, assessing user feedback, and setting design standards and best practices. The role requires participation and occasional leadership in meetings, design reviews, and working groups, along with other related duties. Presenting design solutions effectively to team members and stakeholders and creatively solving problems are vital aspects.

Requirements

The ideal candidate collaborates across multiple teams and stakeholders, crafting user interface designs that address user needs and turning high-level requirements into intuitive and functional interaction flows and artifacts.

• Demonstrated UI design experience supported by a strong portfolio.
• Expertise in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JavaScript libraries like JQuery for rapid prototyping.
• Experience with the Bootstrap CSS framework.
• Solid visual design skills with attention to user-system interaction nuances.
• Familiarity with current UI trends, technologies, and techniques.
• Experience in Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
• Knowledge of .NET, Python, ASP.NET, C#, and PHP.
• Understanding of web server-side platforms such as Apache and IIS.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer relationship skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and support team objectives.
• Adaptability to agile work environments.
• Willingness to work primarily onsite with occasional remote work expectations.

Education

Applicants should possess either a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Mathematics, or a bachelor's degree in another technical discipline including at least 30 semester hours in math, statistics, and computer science, accompanied by 15 years of relevant professional experience in related fields.
