Travel Electrophysiology Technician - Riverview, FL

Overview

A 13-week travel opportunity is available for a skilled Electrophysiology Technician in Riverview, Florida. This role involves supporting electrophysiology procedures, including cardiac ablations and device implantations, within a clinical setting to improve patient outcomes. The position requires 40 hours per week over 8-hour day shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out thorough nursing assessments on electrophysiology patients and accurately record the findings.
• Educate patients and their families about electrophysiology procedures including expectations and care before and after treatment to ensure informed consent.
• Assist physicians during electrophysiology studies, cardiac ablations, and pacemaker or defibrillator installations.
• Administer medications such as conscious sedation as instructed by physicians.
• Monitor patients’ cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and reactions throughout procedures and respond promptly to changes, escalating care when necessary.
• Maintain sterile environment protocols and assist with preparation, setup, and troubleshooting of electrophysiology lab equipment to ensure smooth workflow.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and carry out patient-focused treatment plans.
• Provide immediate post-procedure care by monitoring for complications and ensuring stable recovery.
• Adhere to hospital safety rules, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the practice scope.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of one year recent experience working as an Electrophysiology Lab Technician.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC.
• Certification such as ARRT, RCES, or RCIS is mandatory.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Preferred candidates hold a valid Radiologic Technologist license compliant with state regulations, and PALS or ENPC certifications.
• Demonstrated critical thinking, excellent interpersonal communication, and strong service orientation.
• Proficiency in English reading, writing, and verbal communication, along with computer skills.
• Capability to maintain physical endurance, including standing stationary, moving equipment weighing 50-100 pounds, and performing manual tasks such as bending and pushing.
• Effective collaboration skills with diverse healthcare personnel, maintaining professionalism and positivity.
• Ability to handle detailed work requiring fine motor skills and focus under pressure, sometimes with minimal supervision.
• Good sensory acuity and communication proficiency.
