Transportation Logistics Coordinator

About the Role

Coastal Trading Ventures, part of the integrated Luminize and CTV business, is seeking a dedicated Transportation Logistics Coordinator to manage their domestic freight operations from their Fort Worth, TX site. This position plays a pivotal role in handling high-volume Less than Truckload (LTL) and Full Truckload (FTL) freight shipments, exceeding 200 trucks each month, and is aimed at optimizing transportation expenses through negotiation, auditing, and efficient operational management.

Responsibilities

• Analyze freight lanes and spending patterns strategically to convert costly LTL shipments into more efficient consolidated FTL transports.
• Conduct thorough audits of all freight invoices to identify incorrect charges such as accessorial fees, re-weigh charges, detention, and demurrage penalties, and dispute them as necessary.
• Manage and monitor carrier loading and dwell times to reduce detention charges linked to live loading.
• Coordinate over 200 monthly shipments via the Transportation Management System (TMS) across distinct shipping streams: Inbound, Direct-to-Customer, and Direct-to-Amazon.
• Oversee drop-trailer pool operations by managing daily pulls of full trailers, ensuring timely return of empty trailers to prevent congestion and reduce costs.
• Track trailer dwell durations to maintain equipment rotation within negotiated free time, avoiding additional charges.
• Work closely with the warehouse team to maximize truck load efficiency and pallet utilization, minimizing the shipment of unnecessary space.
• Develop and communicate transportation key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Cost Per Load, On-Time Delivery rates, and Drop Trailer Utilization.
• Lead improvements in freight booking workflows and enhance collaboration between brand partners, warehouse operations, and carriers.

Candidate Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of professional experience in logistics or transportation, focusing on managing extensive LTL and FTL freight operations.
• Demonstrated expertise specifically with Drop Trailer / Drop & Hook program management is essential.
• Proven success in reducing freight costs through negotiation, freight mode shifting, or precise auditing efforts.
• Preferred experience with Amazon FBA and Direct Ship logistics requirements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs for rate analysis and management of trailer aging reports.
• Familiarity and practical use of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) or Yard Management Systems (YMS).
• High attention to detail, capable negotiation skills, and the ability to thrive independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Compensation Details

The expected salary range for this role is $85,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience level, negotiation skills, and TMS/drop-trailer program management background. Salary determination focuses on overall impact and value brought to the company rather than solely years of experience.
