Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, this full-time role is based in Nenagh, County Tipperary, Ireland at a 24/7 automated milk processing plant within the ingredients manufacturing sector. The Trainee Production Shift Manager will assist in managing the shift operations to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Production Shift Manager in overseeing production to guarantee high product standards while maintaining safety, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Lead and optimize the efforts of Production and Maintenance Teams by applying consistent processes aligned with business goals.
- Manage daily activities of production workers during shift rotations.
- Identify and execute process improvements working with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure strict compliance with all Health and Safety regulations and company policies.
- Uphold quality standards in processes, personnel management, and product output.
- Plan capacity for current and forthcoming products to meet demand.
- Drive Lean initiatives and promote a culture of continuous operational improvement.
- Communicate progress and challenges effectively to senior management.
- Contribute to the creation and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous production experience in a food processing environment is advantageous.
- Formal qualifications in Food Science, Process Engineering, Production Management or similar fields are preferred but not mandatory.
Essential Skills and Attributes
- Prior leadership experience as a team leader or shift manager in food production is desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities thriving in high-pressure settings.
