Trainee Production Shift Manager

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, this full-time role is based in Nenagh, County Tipperary, Ireland at a 24/7 automated milk processing plant within the ingredients manufacturing sector. The Trainee Production Shift Manager will assist in managing the shift operations to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Production Shift Manager in overseeing production to guarantee high product standards while maintaining safety, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency.
• Lead and optimize the efforts of Production and Maintenance Teams by applying consistent processes aligned with business goals.
• Manage daily activities of production workers during shift rotations.
• Identify and execute process improvements working with relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure strict compliance with all Health and Safety regulations and company policies.
• Uphold quality standards in processes, personnel management, and product output.
• Plan capacity for current and forthcoming products to meet demand.
• Drive Lean initiatives and promote a culture of continuous operational improvement.
• Communicate progress and challenges effectively to senior management.
• Contribute to the creation and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• Previous production experience in a food processing environment is advantageous.
• Formal qualifications in Food Science, Process Engineering, Production Management or similar fields are preferred but not mandatory.
