The Opportunity
Join the expanding planning division at Stantec to work on an array of projects involving development management, infrastructure, environmental, and strategic planning. Engage in high-profile assignments particularly within the Water and Energy sectors by assisting in the preparation of planning applications, development of planning strategies, and facilitating stakeholder engagement. Collaborate with professionals from multiple disciplines to contribute to sustainable development and critical infrastructure projects throughout Ireland.
About the Role
The Town Planner will manage diverse planning assignments nationally, focusing on infrastructure, environmental, and developmental planning. Responsibilities include drafting planning applications, reporting, and strategic planning documents, along with advising clients and project teams on planning matters.
The role involves interacting with planning authorities, key stakeholders, and clients, contributing to projects especially in Water and Energy sectors, as well as broader strategic and developmental planning programs. You will actively support project delivery, stakeholder relations, and business growth, while enhancing your professional skills within a collaborative and supportive setting.

About You
You are an enthusiastic planning expert with 3 to 7 years of experience in town planning, environmental, or infrastructure planning domains. You possess in-depth knowledge of Irish planning laws and policies, along with a proven track record in preparing planning-related documents and applications. Your effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills complement your ability to work well in team settings managing multiple priorities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Irish planning legislation, policies, and development management procedures
- Proficiency in preparing planning applications, technical reports, and submissions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated stakeholder interaction experience
