Role Overview
Amazon invites applications for the position of Tour Manager, entrusted with leading the Tour Leader program across multiple Robotics Fulfillment Centers. This role focuses on ensuring exceptional, engaging tours that highlight Amazon's technological innovations, environmental concerns, and employee dedication. The manager will remotely lead a team of Tour Leaders at different sites, involving frequent travels for hands-on observation, audits, and developmental coaching.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct and nurture a group of Tour Leaders spanning various Robotics Fulfillment Centers.
- On occasion, personally conduct prestigious Fulfillment Center tours for VIP visitors.
- Leverage expertise in tour delivery by frequently traveling to various sites for audit, observation, coaching, and feedback purposes.
- Recruit, hire, and onboard Tour Leaders to ensure adequate team strength.
- Work closely with product and marketing teams to guarantee tours meet standards related to content, capacity, visitor traffic, and public perception.
- Formulate and execute continuous improvements in tour quality and team performance.
- Analyze visitor feedback and performance metrics to pinpoint enhancement opportunities and take corrective action.
- Ensure all tours adhere strictly to safety protocols and Amazon’s policies.
- Design and deliver training programs updating Tour Leaders on new technologies and company initiatives.
- Manage scheduling and tour capacities over multiple centers to maximize resources.
- Serve as liaison between the tour program and other Amazon departments to ensure seamless operations and resolve arising issues.
A Typical Day
The Tour Manager’s daily tasks include liaising with Tour Leaders across time zones, swiftly addressing issues, and monitoring key performance indicators and customer feedback to identify trends for improvement. Days involve virtual coaching sessions focused on tour delivery enhancement, collaborations with product and marketing departments on content and strategy, and during site visits, in-person evaluations of tours with immediate coaching. The manager also hosts training workshops and engages with site leadership to discuss program impacts.
Team Overview
The successful candidate will become part of a dedicated team focused on projecting Amazon’s innovation and values through tours. The team cooperates with multiple departments including Operations, HR, PR, and Marketing, valuing creativity, data-driven decisions, and ongoing advancements. This strategic role provides an opportunity to expand leadership capabilities in remote management, training, and cross-functional collaboration while shaping public understanding of Amazon’s fulfillment operations.
Qualifications
- A minimum of three years managing teams.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent professional experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of work time.
- Fluency in English, both written and oral.
- At least five years’ recent experience in professional communications or public relations.
Preferred Experience
- Background in operations management within fulfillment or distribution centers.
- Customer service experience.
- Experience leading large, geographically and linguistically diverse teams.
- Ability to inspire trust and maintain professionalism at all organizational levels.
- Adaptability to shifting work environments and changing priorities.
- Proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.

Compensation & Benefits
