Overview
GBS’s Registry department is hiring a full-time, permanent Timetabling Officer for its Leeds campus. This on-site position sits within the timetabling function, which is responsible for building dependable schedules so courses can run smoothly across the academic year. The role supports a positive student experience by ensuring timetables are clear, accessible, and accurately maintained.
The postholder will work closely with departments, faculty teams, curriculum managers, and other stakeholders to keep timetabling systems, records, and processes current and reliable. Salary for the position is £27,500 to £31,000.
Key duties
You will act as an initial contact for timetabling stakeholders, helping gather, check, and maintain the data needed to produce accurate schedules. The role also involves understanding the timetabling platform and the policies that shape how it is used, as well as entering information correctly within required deadlines.
Day to day work includes supporting curriculum areas with timetable planning, handling room and scheduling issues, processing changes, resolving clashes, and helping ensure timetabled provision aligns with internal management information and compliance requirements.
Candidate profile
GBS is looking for someone with strong data-handling confidence, excellent attention to detail, and an organised approach to complex administrative work. The ideal candidate will have experience in a customer-focused office environment and should be comfortable working with high volumes of information while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
Strong Microsoft Office skills are important, including advanced Excel ability, along with the capability to extract, manipulate, and safeguard data integrity. The role also calls for clear written and spoken communication, sound numerical ability, a calm and courteous manner, and a proactive mindset for investigating issues and solving problems.
Experience in higher education or further education is preferred, and experience with EventMAP Timetabler would be an advantage. A qualification at Level 3 or above is required, and a degree is desirable.
