Test Analyst

Role Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and investigative Test Analyst to guarantee the robustness, reliability, and performance of software through extensive testing and quality assurance operations. This key role ensures software quality across the development cycle by analyzing requirements, devising test approaches, detecting defects, and collaborating with multiple teams to produce top-tier solutions.

Key Duties

• Assess business, functional, and technical requirements to formulate detailed test plans and methodologies.
• Develop, maintain, and execute both manual and automated test cases, including scripts and scenarios.
• Conduct diverse testing types such as functional, integration, regression, system, acceptance, smoke, and exploratory tests to verify software quality.
• Identify, log, prioritize, and track defects using defect management tools.
• Work closely with developers, analysts, product managers, and stakeholders to diagnose issues and ensure swift resolution.
• Confirm bug fixes and check that applications align with business and technical specifications prior to release.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, requirement analysis, and release preparations.
• Assist in preparation of test data, configuration of testing environments, and validation of releases.
• Monitor testing progression and compile quality reports, test summaries, and defect statistics for interested parties.
• Advocate process improvements within testing methodologies, standards, and documentation.
• Engage in risk assessments by identifying potential quality risks early in development.
• Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards, security policies, and organizational best practices.
• Foster a quality-focused mindset throughout development and business teams.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
• Solid grasp of software testing fundamentals, quality assurance methods, and the software development life cycle.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum methodologies, DevOps culture, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, HP ALM or equivalent.
• Understanding of manual testing processes and concepts behind automated testing.
• Knowledge of API, database, web app, mobile app, and system integration testing is a plus.
• Experience or familiarity with automation frameworks and tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, Postman, or similar technologies is advantageous.
• Basic proficiency in SQL for database validation and data checks.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to produce clear test cases, defect documentation, and quality reports.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and dedication to software quality.
• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional Agile teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and quality management software tools.
• Professional certifications like ISTQB or Certified Agile Tester are beneficial but not mandatory.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for continuous learning and staying updated with emerging test technologies, automation frameworks, and quality practices.
